Here in Canada our strawberry season is just starting, and my son and I went down to the farms to pick our own.  It turned out to be quite the adventure, getting stuck in the mud with the owner, and my son pushing us through “the mucky spots”.

It’s great when you can allow yourself the time to go out and pick your own, you never know how much fun you might have :)!

I’m going to share with you some of the whole food nutrition value of freshly picked strawberries, so you can be more aware of how you are nourishing your body as you enjoy the taste of summer!

Oh another thing, these strawberries are not sprayed with fungicide, and the land isn’t sprayed either, this is something you will want to look for in your local farms.

One simple way to know if the food is grown without sprays is quite simple, IF YOU SEE WEEDS, it’s not sprayed.  So that’s the first good sign.  (in smaller farm gardens they may be hand pulling, if there is acres of land, you know hand pulling isn’t an option).

Strawberry nutrient value:

Strawberries are a good source of Vitamin C and are an excellent spring tonic when juiced.  They can also be considered an eliminative food, and are good for the intestinal tract.  Strawberries have an alkaline reaction in the body, and this my friends, is what you are looking for to create a healthy body.

They are also high in natural sodium, which is know as the “food of youth”, and they also have a good amount of potassium, and calcium.

When you eat whole foods like strawberries they are naturally balanced and your body can receive the nutrients more fully.

After all, it’s what we actually digest in our bodies that creates the energy and vitality we are seeking to have.

Also the color red lends to energize you and gives you that boost of energy to go outside and enjoy the summer sun.

Getting outside with the kids or grandkids is so much fun.

In my family, that was our “end of school” tradition.  We drive down to the local farm and pick as much strawberries and peas as the kids could handle, then we’d drive to the lake and sit in the sun, eating our freshly picked ~ Alive ~ food.  Yee-Haaa!

What are some of your fun & fresh food memories or traditions?  Or do you remember some of your own from your childhood days?  I’d love to hear them, and maybe even start using them for myself.

Oh and one more thing, if you’re having a “stuck in the mud” experience this week-end, like we did in picking strawberries, know that… this too will pass.

Or if you really want a push to get going through the muck of the day, you can reply to this email and request to have a private soul session with me, as I have some sessions available.

You may simply require releasing some old stuff that’s coming to the surface with all this emotional water energy floating around right now.

Remember, you are not alone, and you are the strongest of the strong.

Until next time, keep moving, momentum happens one step at a time.

Happy summer and super full moon energy to you.
